Has anyone else noticed how few US market 1976 and newer FJ40’s come up for sale anymore? I think it may be because people have realized that those are the best years, and they are holding onto them! Fortunately, we were able to pry this one away from the previous owner. After extensive service, it is ready for you!
This life-long west coast truck is in exceptional original condition. 90+% original paint (we did find some evidence of early paint work on the front, but no evidence of accident repair nor corrosion), original interior and more. We just could not help but to fit a new set of OEM powder coated wheels & hub caps, fit with new 31” x 10.5”BF Goodrich A/T tires. Mechanically, we just spent several weeks dialing it in to Stage One specifications. Highlights of that comprehensive service includes major OEM tune up, rebuilt carburetor, new EGR J-Tube, all new silicone vacuum lines, new fuel filter and fuel lines, new ABV valve, new rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, & shoes, all new tie rod ends and clips. New front brake pads, grease seals, adjusted front steering relay and box. Once we started test driving it and were pleased with the results of our comprehensive service, there were some body rattles that were driving us nuts. So, we replaced some door strikers and the weather stripping seals on all four doors. Much better now!
This truck is ready for its next adventure, and you just would be hard pressed to find a more fun investment.
