This 1964 FJ40 started out as a stable support vehicle for a jockey at Los Alimitos Raceway. Never rusty, a beloved truck for it's original owner who took it with him when he retired and moved to the high desert. We purchased the truck in original condition. The build and design of this truck was commissioned by one of our favorite repeat customers. Inspired by the design and engineering values the ICON chassis system provides, yet with a strong affinity to the original design cues on the early 1960's FJ40. In short, this has to be one of the finest in the world. Top quality fabrication and content. Art Morrison crafted chassis with coil over shock design (panhard-3 bar front, triangulated four bar rear) utilizing Race Runner shocks and Eibach coils. Tunable front and rear sway bars. Stock 1978 Toyota axle assemblies, fully rebuilt with upgraded brake calipers and stainless plumbing. Variable ratio power steering with reservoir, 350 HP GM 5.3 LS alloy V8, GM 4L65E automatic, 19 spline late model transfer case. Ceramic coated stainless steel exhaust. Powder coated frame, trim, and suspension components. Powder coated stock wheels with 33' BF Goodrich Tires. Highest quality glasurit paint system, from bare metal. Mercedes Oxblood vinyl on restored stock seat frames. New Toyota seat belts. Restored original soft top and door frames, tailored in improved Mercedes three ply canvas (special color), Bentley Tenax snaps and YKK marine zippers. Custom audio system hiding IPod dock in original dash ash tray, speakers fit in kick vents (vents still function). Steve Moal custom heater, re-cast steering wheel, stock column. All new wiring harness utilizing modern components, all new switches and lighting (Halogen Headlights too), custom color coordinated gauge cluster, with VDO electronic speedometer, all styled within the stock design and housing. Hand made knurled and engraved dash knobs. All new OEM emblems, rubber, glass and trim. Custom color, in the classic style. A magnificent rolling work of art, and a blast to drive. It may look old, but watch out. This truck sets the pace. Offered without the one to two year wait and expense of such a project. Client ran out of garage space... One of my all time favorites (his too, but the 300sl gullwing won the last parking space).
