We restored this 1976 FJ40 for a repeat client. We had owned a dead stock restored FJ40 we built for him for many years. He loved it but wanted something with more versatility and modern manners, so we built this for him. This truck is restored Stage Three, with the body being Line-X coated on the bottom side and inside floors, after having been powder coat primed, and then conventionally painted. We updates it to the 373 gears, four wheel power disc brakes, BMW front bucket seats, A/C, Tuffy console, high end audio, custom mats, and more. We deleted the in-cabin fuel tank (which created a nice storage space under the front passenger seat, and built in a rear fuel tank which helped with weight balance and increased fuel capacity. We have done several of these 4.2 V6 Vortec. Althpough we like them and all clients are pleased, we actually find that the conservative Vortec V8's can be more efficient, as they do not have to work as hard as the six.
